The Reality of a Lifestyle Club Evening

The most common misconception about lifestyle clubs is that they are primarily sexual venues. In reality, most of the time at a lifestyle club is spent socialising — talking, dancing, having drinks, and getting to know other couples.

A typical lifestyle club evening looks something like this:

Arrival and check-in. Most clubs have a reception area where you present your membership or pay admission. You may receive a brief orientation if it is your first visit.

Social area. The main social area — usually a bar, lounge, or dance floor — is where most of the evening is spent. Couples socialise, dance, and get to know each other. The atmosphere is typically warm and friendly.

Play areas. Separate play areas are available for couples who choose to use them. These range from semi-private spaces to more open areas depending on the venue. Use of play areas is entirely voluntary.

The Social Atmosphere

The social atmosphere at a well-run lifestyle club is often described as surprisingly normal. People are dressed well, having conversations, laughing, and enjoying themselves. The fact that everyone is there for the same reason creates a sense of openness and ease that is difficult to find elsewhere.

What You Are Not Required to Do

You are not required to use the play areas. You are not required to approach other couples. You are not required to accept any approach. You are not required to stay if you are not enjoying yourself.

First-Timer Tips

Arrive early when the venue is quieter. Give yourselves time to settle in before engaging with anyone. Observe before participating. Check in with each other regularly throughout the evening.
