Gay is an orientation commonly used by people who experience attraction primarily to people of the same gender. It is often used by men, and some women and non-binary people also use the term when it feels right for them.

The term describes identity or attraction, not a particular relationship style, personality, or level of sexual interest. People should be allowed to name their own identity in the language they prefer.
