Heterosexual

Heterosexual is an orientation describing attraction primarily to people of a different gender. It is sometimes shortened to straight, although people choose the words that best fit their identity and experience.

Orientation alone does not indicate how someone approaches dating, monogamy, community, or intimacy. Those expectations are better discussed directly than inferred from a label.
