Lesbian is an orientation commonly used by women who experience attraction primarily to women. The term can describe identity, community, and relationships, while each person decides whether it is the language that fits them.

Being lesbian does not imply any particular relationship model, interest in a lifestyle setting, or openness to someone else’s assumptions. Mutual consent and direct conversation remain more meaningful than guessing from identity alone.
