Scene

In BDSM and kink communities, a scene refers to a defined period of consensual play between participants. A scene has a beginning, a middle, and an end, and is typically negotiated in advance. Before a scene, participants discuss what activities are included, what is off-limits, and what safe words will be used. After a scene, aftercare is an important part of the process. The term scene is also used more broadly in the lifestyle community to refer to the community itself — as in, the lifestyle scene or the local scene.
