Vulnerability
Lifestyle Glossary · relationship-structures
Vulnerability is the willingness to show honest feelings, uncertainties, and needs in a relationship, accepting emotional risk in exchange for connection. It includes admitting fears, naming desires, and asking for care without guaranteeing a specific outcome. Vulnerability is not the same as oversharing; it’s calibrated disclosure paired with awareness of boundaries, consent, and the other person’s capacity. When practiced responsibly, vulnerability deepens trust, enables repair, and supports genuine intimacy; done without mutual consent or safety, it can create confusion or harm.
