The Stranger Behind the Blindfold

Mara had chosen the safe word herself, three days before, over coffee with Julian at their kitchen table — clinical, careful, the way they planned everything now. Tonight none of that mattered less. The room was warm and unfamiliar, borrowed for the evening, and the blindfold made every sound sharper: a glass set down, a chair shifting, someone's breath closer than she expected. Julian had promised to stay nearby without saying where. She'd agreed to trust a stranger's hands for exactly as long as she wanted to, not a second longer. The waiting was its own kind of pleasure. When the first touch came, she couldn't have said whose it was, and for once, she didn't need to.
