What She Couldn’t See, She Learned to Trust
The blindfold had been Cara's idea the first time, eleven years ago, back when trusting Miguel with anything felt like the whole point. Tonight she suggested it again, half out of nostalgia, half curious what it would feel like now — after two kids, a decade, a marriage that had survived versions of itself she couldn't have predicted. Miguel took his time. Slower than before, more deliberate, like he'd learned things about her the years had taught him instead of words. Cara had expected the dark to feel unfamiliar. Instead it felt like coming back to something she'd almost forgotten she still wanted.
