Many lifestyle participants have professional careers, family relationships, or social circles where their private life could be misunderstood or judged. Protecting your privacy is not paranoia — it is a practical necessity for most participants.

The lifestyle community has strong norms around discretion precisely because privacy matters so much. Understanding how to protect your own privacy — and how to respect others' — is a fundamental responsibility.

Your Online Presence

Use a separate screen name for lifestyle platforms that is not connected to your real name, email address, or social media accounts. Create a dedicated email address for lifestyle correspondence. Choose profile photos carefully — avoid images that could identify you in professional or family contexts (no identifiable backgrounds, no company logos, no distinctive tattoos or features if you prefer anonymity).

At Venues and Events

Be mindful of who might recognise you at lifestyle venues. If you encounter someone you know from outside the lifestyle, take no action unless they acknowledge you first. Do not approach them, reference the lifestyle context, or share information about their attendance with others.

What to Share and When
