Don't Ask Don't Tell

Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) is an arrangement in open or non-monogamous relationships where partners agree not to share details about their outside connections with each other. Each person is free to pursue other relationships, but neither asks about nor shares information about those connections. DADT works for some couples who prefer to maintain a sense of separation between their primary relationship and outside connections. However, many relationship counsellors and non-monogamy educators caution that DADT can sometimes mask unresolved jealousy or discomfort rather than addressing it.
