Repair Conversation
Lifestyle Glossary · relationship-structures
A repair conversation is a focused, respectful dialogue aimed at addressing hurt, misunderstanding, or harm and restoring the relationship after friction. It prioritizes listening, taking responsibility where appropriate, clarifying intentions and impacts, and agreeing on practical steps to make amends and prevent repetition. Repair conversations balance emotional expression with curiosity and often include validation and concrete follow-up. They differ from general conflict resolution by centering restoration rather than scoring blame, and by explicitly naming what repair would look like to those affected.
