Ball Gag

A ball gag is a type of gag that rests in or across the mouth and may be used as part of an agreed BDSM scene. It can change how someone speaks, breathes, signals, and experiences vulnerability. Because it limits verbal communication, it should never be treated as a casual prop or used without explicit consent.

Before a scene, everyone involved should agree on clear non-verbal ways to pause or stop, as well as the person's hard limits. A ball gag must be removable immediately, and no one should use one while impaired, asleep, or unable to communicate their wellbeing. A safe word system is useful only when it is paired with a reliable signal that can still be used.
