Bondage

Bondage is the consensual use of restraint or restricted movement as part of a BDSM or intimate scene. It can be symbolic, decorative, sensory, or part of an agreed power dynamic. The meaning comes from the participants' shared understanding, not from the restraint itself.

Its scope should be negotiated rather than guessed. A safe word or a non-verbal alternative, together with clearly stated boundaries, helps keep agency visible throughout. Bondage is one part of BDSM, not a promise that every person or every scene will want the same thing.
