Blindfold / Blindfolding

Blindfolding is the consensual use of a covering over someone's eyes to reduce or remove sight during an intimate, sensory, or BDSM experience. Losing visual information can heighten anticipation and trust, but it can also make a person feel more exposed or disoriented than expected.

The sensory change should add to a person's sense of safety, not take away their ability to choose. Discussing boundaries before a blindfold is used gives everyone a shared expectation; ongoing communication makes room for the experience to change or end without pressure.
