Handler

Handler is a role title whose meaning depends on the people and setting using it. Within pet play, it may describe a person who takes a guiding, caring, or directing role in a negotiated dynamic. In other community settings, the title may have a logistical or event-specific meaning instead.

The word does not create authority by itself. Its role, responsibilities, and limits come from the explicit consent of the people involved, and they may be different in every relationship, scene, or venue.
