Immobilization

Immobilization describes a consensual kink situation in which a person’s movement is substantially limited. It can be discussed as a more intense end of the broader restraint spectrum, but the exact meaning depends on the people and scene involved. It is not a casual synonym for stillness or a general instruction category.

Limiting mobility can create serious physical and emotional risks. Explicit consent and the risk-awareness principles in RACK are relevant, while practical methods and safety procedures remain outside the scope of this Glossary.
