Leather

Leather is a broad cultural and community term used by some people connected to BDSM, kink, and related traditions. It can describe a community, an identity, an aesthetic, a history, or a personal affiliation. Its meaning is not limited to clothing, and it does not reveal a person’s orientation, role, relationship style, or interests.

People use the term in different ways, including with particular titles or traditions. As with every community label, treating others with respect and honoring individual consent matters more than assuming a shared meaning from the word alone.
