Primal

Primal is a term some adults use for a consensual kink style that emphasizes instinct, intensity, movement, sound, or a less formal sense of interaction. What feels “primal” is highly individual: for one person it may be playful roughness or competition, while for another it may simply be a more emotionally direct style of connection.

The term should not be used to excuse behavior that someone has not agreed to. Naming boundaries in advance and using clear communication afterward helps distinguish an intense shared experience from a situation where someone feels unsafe or unheard.
