Roleplay

Roleplay is a consensual activity in which adults take on imagined characters, situations, or relationship dynamics for connection, creativity, exploration, or intimacy. It can be light and humorous, emotionally meaningful, or part of a BDSM scene. The people involved decide together where the fantasy begins and ends.

The strongest roleplay agreements leave room for revision. A person may enjoy an idea in conversation and feel differently in the moment. Communication and consent make it possible to redirect a scene without treating that change as a failure.
