Sadism / Sadist

In a consensual BDSM context, sadism refers to finding enjoyment in giving intense sensation, control, or a negotiated emotional experience; a sadist is a person who enjoys that role. The term does not describe non-consensual cruelty, violence, or disregard for another person’s wellbeing.
