Sensation Play

Sensation play is a broad term for consensually exploring different physical or sensory experiences, such as temperature, texture, pressure, sound, or anticipation. It is not defined by one specific tool or intensity. What feels pleasurable, distracting, overwhelming, or neutral can vary from person to person.

Curiosity works best when it is paired with attentiveness. Asking what someone notices and wants more or less of is a practical form of communication. Consent includes the freedom to change one’s mind when a sensation is not enjoyable.
